NY FASHION WEEK TREND REPORT by ELK
Another New York Fashion Week came and went, lovies! But here at Elk, we’re still dreamin’ about the gorgeous gowns from Rachel Zoe, the edgy colors and textures from Ralph Lauren, and whimsical show that Johnathan Simkhais put on. This year’s show was all about exciting and bold looks. One that filled a maximalist’s heart and gave us a taste of everything we should be wearing this fall.
Since we couldn’t be there ourselves (someday, though!), we’re recapping our favorite looks and upcoming trends from NY Fashion Week that we spotted elsewhere (i.e. we stalked social media). Check ‘em out & leave a comment below about your favorite trends that we should check out.
Leopard is IN
I mean, have you seen our new arrivals…? Kidding. But really, leopard has become as a neutral fashion staple to have in your wardrobe along with a leather jacket or perfect pair of jeans. Michael Kors and Tom Ford added leopard print coats into their shows this year and we’re lovin' the classic meets daring statement. Here’s one of our favorite looks:
2. Those prints + pops
Something about those typical fall colors never seem to go out of style. It’s hard not to be stoked that they’re back and bolder than ever this year. We are also mad for plaid, no matter the season, and are grateful it's not going ANYWHERE for fall. Our favorite plaid print with a color pop look done effortlessly by no one other than THE Happily Grey:
3. PJs in public
Last year, both GiGi Hadid and Victoria Beckham were spotted in New York absolutely owning the PJs in public look. It left us thinking we might rock a pair of cozy jammies for our next formal festivity ourselves; if the trend sticks around, that is. But could we pull it off like these two boss babes do? Either way, we were stoked to see the look is here at least for a little while longer. Here’s one of our fav styles:
4. Babes in blazers
We’re all about blazers. Period. And it was reassuring to know the babes of the fashion world are all about ‘em too. A look we CANNOT get enough of is by fashionista, Camile Coelho, with just the right about of sheek and edge that we can get on board with.
For our fellow blazer lovers, if you’re looking for one that you can wear year-round, no matter the occasion, go peep the Loewe Blazer in our “new arrivals” section!
‘till next NY Fashion Week!
